The question is, did they have a sudden spasm of integrity or were the Dem lies so blatant that even CNN didn’t think they could get away with ignoring it?

Pelosi threw a party when the government shut down.

And it’s important to play the blame game.
They tried to cast the #SchumerShutdown as Trump’s fault.
Even CNN wasn’t buying that bunkum.
90% negative Trump coverage or no… even they have limits to how big a lie they’re willing to swallow.
Blumenthal and Durbin went onto CNN to spin the shutdown.
But their plan went unexpectedly wrong.
CNN actually called them out for their lie.
Hard to believe, I know.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), who lied about his service record in Vietnam, appeared on CNN with host Wolf Blitzer where he falsely asserted that the Republicans were in control of the Senate.
Blitzer corrected Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) after the Senator claimed Republicans were in control of the Senate:
… “Well, let me interrupt politely. They’re not completely in control of the U.S. Senate as you know, they only have 51 votes, the Democrats are in the minority, but you need 60 votes in order to break a filibuster, so they’re not in control of the Senate when it comes to this issue.”

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), ran into a similar problem when he claimed that Republicans haven’t reauthorized the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and that Republicans have control of the Senate.
The CNN host interviewing Durbin immediately stopped him and pointed out that Republicans did include the reauthorization of CHIP in the bill and stopped him again to remind him that the Democrats do in fact have power in the U.S. Senate as 60 votes are needed.
